Medical City Arlington Earns Cycle 6 Chest Pain and Resuscitation Accreditation

Only Hospital in Tarrant County to earn this accreditation

ARLINGTON Medical City Arlington has earned the Cycle 6 Chest Pain Center Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) with Resuscitation Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), making it the only hospital in Tarrant County to attain this accreditation for heart and vascular treatment.

“Medical City Arlington consistently looks for opportunities to be measured against the top performers for all of our services,” says Keith Zimmerman, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Medical City Arlington. “The Cycle 6 Accreditation is an example of that commitment to excellence always in heart and vascular treatment in every action, every patient, every time. Our cardiovascular teams work tirelessly to ensure Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie and the surrounding communities receive excellent care when they need it the most.”

Hospitals that have earned ACC Chest Pain Center Primary PCI with Resuscitation Accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms and have primary PCI services available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As required to meet the criteria of the accreditation designation, hospital systems are streamlined from admission to treatment and discharge, ensuring each patient has the appropriate post-hospital care and recommendations for assistance and lifestyle changes. Additionally, Medical City Arlington’s accreditation involves Early Heart Attack Care education. Alongside local fire and EMS partners, Medical City Arlington educates community members to recognize the early signs and symptoms of a heart attack, and appropriate steps to take in the event of a cardiac event.
