A financial literacy simulation for students of Ben Barber that provides hands-on, real-world experience for students to learn budgeting and financial decision-making.

Volunteers guide the students through the simulation.

What will volunteers be doing?

• Each student will be assigned a career and handed a budget sheet, they will then walk to 10 stations to plug in living expenses. Before each session starts, volunteers will get a quick training huddle to go over day of event instructions, and then be assigned to a station where you will go over the pricing options for your living expense category with the student using the information present at your station. The student will plug in the price and then move over to the next station when the timer goes off in 4-5 minutes. You repeat the same steps 10 times for a new set of students each time. In the end the students will visit the financial counseling table to tabulate and make sure they are not over budget, if they are, then they go back and make changes to some of their expenses.
